Ongoing research projects:
1. Controlling a new pest of citrus, citrus leaf miner. This project is directed at finding new chemicals to control citrus leafminer in nurseries.
2. Evaluation of lemon varieties for the desert. We are evaluating 12 varieties. In addition to the usual commercial lemon varieties grown in California, a number of no or low seeded lemons of Italian origin have also been included in this trial at CVARS in Mecca, CA.
3. Controlling Bank's grass mite in commercial date gardens. We have a new tool, SAVEY. We are looking for alternatives so that we can manage resistance to the new pesticide.
