Jose Luis Aguiar, M.S. Vegetable Crops, UC Davis
Vegetable Crops/Small Farm Advisor
My extension and research program focuses on problems and issues affecting vegetable crop producers. These can range from insect and disease outbreaks to researching new crops adapted for the area. My program also assists the small-scale producers of the area. Small farms tend to focus on specialty crops to stay competitive. There is limited information on these specialty crops and there are few if any materials registered for use on these minor specialty crops. The Advisor also works with Pest Control Advisors and is their link to the University of California specialists and researchers.
Please see the meetings section for current educational programs offered. Download program notices there. Also see the newsletter section for articles of interest to growers and pest control advisors. You can also download newsletter articles there!
